Bonding with your new companion:

The first two weeks are very important to your long term relationship with your new feline companion.  Do not let the cat outside until you have formed a very strong bond with her.  The best way to form a strong bond is to:

Provide a safe covered hiding place for them until they are comfortable with their new surroundings.  Keep them in one room until they feel comfortable enough to go out into the next room.
Have food, clean water and litter box available at all times.
Reward him/her with a treat every time she comes to you.  Use a tartar control treat like Pounce, it is good for their teeth and they like it.  Or if they are very afraid, offer them a small bite of tuna every time you approach.
Play with them; spend as much time as possible letting her know she can trust and count on you.
She will be solely dependent on you for everything, food, water, safe shelter and companionship.  Don’t let her down.
Never raise your voice, or scare her. Let her learn she can trust you.
Never let her outside at night, that is when danger is around.

Your feline companion, male or female, will be happier and healthier if you spay or neuter before they have a chance to reproduce.

It's the right thing to do, it's the responsible thing to do.

Be a responsible pet owner, always spay or neuter.
